The Nirkoda Committee of Management has 7 members. They are listed below with their allotted area of responsibility.

If you would like to contact the committee by email, please contact them by clicking here.

Denise Setton - President
Responsible for overall club management

Denise has been an avid fan of Nirkoda since 2003. Since she discovered that dancing allowed her the freedom to be a complete fool with other like minded people, she has taken to it with gusto! Dancing has made her fit, and even lowered her cholesterol! She loves the diverse people in the club and their acceptance of all members, without any cliquiness. As for being on the committee, she has much experience from school parents association, and charity groups, and is looking forward to inflicting some of her wild ideas on the group.

Hillary Herson - Vice President
Responsible for overall club management

Hillary started new beginner partner dancing in March 2004 with Ilana and Rosie as her teachers, and immediately ventured into the beginner circle dancing. She got the Israeli Dancing bug into her system and now attends four dance sessions a week. Hillary is a dedicated committee member.

Denise Borghi - Treasurer
Tel. (61) 3 9523 1325 / 0450 926 303 (Mobile)

Denise started dancing in 1989 when she joined some of her friends at an intermediate class. Within weeks she wanted to learn every dance she saw and had a year of dancing 3-4 times per week to build up her repertoire. With her appetitive quenched and wanting to be recognisable to her family she has been dancing twice a week since then! She has been teaching since 1997.

Marlena Axel - Secretary

Marlena has started and stopped dancing more times than she cares to remember - her first dance attempt was in Sweden learning Balkan dances in 1977. This time however (which started 15 years ago), she finally got hooked. She loves the music, the warm and welcoming Nirkoda people and the challenge in co-ordinating brain/feet activity; she fully understands what the teachers say but does not always manage to translate it into the correct foot movements; it’s a work in progress, and she’s not giving up. Happy to be on the committee and will attempt to give something back to Nirkoda.
